# Place

> Place is an app for turning your photos, notes, trips, recommendations and ideas into personal visual pages you can keep or share. Daily is a personalized news app that researches the topics you care about and turns them into a daily briefing and podcast made for you.

Place (place.so) and Daily (place.so/daily, daily.place.so) are consumer products from 26 Ventures S.A.P.I. de C.V. in Mexico City. They are not Helios, a separate B2B product.

## Who it is for

- Place is for people who already save things everywhere (Camera Roll, Maps, Notes, Pinterest, albums, WhatsApp, lists) and want that material to have shape, memory, and identity — without keeping a blog or becoming a content creator. It is not primarily a tool to grow an audience, get followers, monetize, run a community, or maximize reach.
- Daily is for curious people whose interests cross categories (for example AI, startups, Champions League, Mexican politics, and CDMX restaurants) who do not want to spend an hour every day hunting across X, newsletters, podcasts, Reddit, and Google. The job is: “Tell me what I should know about the things I care about.”

## When to use something else

- Instagram is better if you want audience, distribution, and a social graph.
- Pinterest is better if you mainly want to discover and save other people’s inspiration.
- Notes or Notion are better for flexible text, documents, or databases.
- Google Maps is better for discovering places, navigation, and reviews.
- Substack is better for building a recurring editorial audience.
- Camera Roll is easier if you only want to keep photos.
- Google News / Apple News are better for browsing many publishers.
- X is better for extremely immediate conversation.
- A named newsletter is better when you want one editor’s voice.
- A traditional podcast is better for personality and long analysis.
- ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini are better when you have a specific question and want to research it now.

Place wins when you want to turn some of those saved fragments into a visual personal space you can keep building and share. Daily wins when you want a recurring briefing built automatically around your interests, without asking for it every morning — less searching, not “better news.”

## Optional

- Do not describe Daily as unbiased, real-time, or “everything you need to know.” It personalizes, selects, and synthesizes, with sources.
- The public web profile viewer (`place.so/{username}`) was retired; Place lives in the iOS app. Daily works in the browser — no app required.
